College football enters it’s second week with the Bowling Green Falcons hosting the Maryland Terrapins.
The Maryland Terrapins began their schedule with an impressive 34-29 victory against visiting Texas as a 12 point home dog. Both teams managed around 406 total yards with Maryland holding the ball for nearly 33 minutes while managing a 3-0 edge in turnovers. The Terrapins saw Kasim Hill connect on 17-29 for 222 yards and a touchdown.
Taivon Jacobs and Jeshuan Jones caught five and two passes respectively while combining for 146 yard and a touchdown each while Tayon Fleet-Davis was the top Terps rushing attack with 31 totes for 31 yards and a TD. Maryland did allow a safety but won the turnover battle in a game where the defense did just enough.
The Bowling Green Falcons were in the wrong place at the wrong time in a season opening 58-24 defeat at Oregon as a 35 point underdog. Bowling Green led 10-0 before the roof caved in with the Ducks amassing a 504-389 yardage advantage. The Falcons saw quarterback Jarret Doege connect on 22-38 for 253 yards and three touchdowns along with a pair of interceptions.
Scott Miller led BGSU with 13 receptions for 166 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Andrew Clair had some success on the ground with 113 yards on 25 carries. Both sides gave the ball away three times but the Falcons threw a pick six and had a snap go out of the end zone for a safety.
