The Line: Buffalo Bulls +12 -- Over/Under:
The Army Black Knight take their option on the road to take the field at the Buffalo Bulls.
It’s been quite awhile since the Army Black Knights began a season at 3-0 but that’s what we have following a 66-14 rout of Texas El Paso on the road. The Black Knights led 24-0 at the break and never let up behind nearly 600 yards while limiting the Miners to 269 yards, a pair of turnovers and just 18 minutes of possession. Army didn’t throw much but were effective when they did with Ahmad Bradshaw and Malik McGue going 5-6 for 127 yards with Joe Walker catching a 39 yard scoring strike. Army made their living on the ground led by Andy Davidson with 106 yards and a TD on17 carries while Chris Carter added 94 yards with Darnell Woolfolk totaling 71 yards and three touchdowns.
The Buffalo Bulls have struggled to move the chains and find the endzone which is a major factor in their 0-3 start. The UB defense didn’t help in week three’s 38-14 defeat at Nevada where the Wolf Pack held a substantial 521-361 yardage edge while holding Buffalo to less then 21 minutes of possession. Bulls quarterback Tyree Jackson was 7-22 for 130 yards with a 57 Yard touchdown strike to Jordan Johnson. Jackson was better using his legs with 87 yards on eight totes while Johnson added 87 yards on 17 touches including a 12 yard scoring jaunt. Buffalo simply didn’t have enough options on the offensive side of the football while the Wolf Pack had numerous options.
The Black Knights are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games in September and are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall while going 4-0 ATS in their last 4 non-conference games. The Bulls are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up loss of more than 20 points and are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 versus Independents while going 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games on fieldturf. I’m not accustomed to laying chalk with Army but the Bulls are #114 versus the run…
