The Line: Buffalo Bulls -3.5 -- Over/Under:
MAC college football action kicks off with Eastern Michigan Eagles visit the Buffalo Bulls.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles surprised Purdue with a 20-19 road win as a two touchdown underdog. Eastern Michigan was outgained 476-416 but did force five fumbles and recovered two.
Eagles signal caller Tyler Wiegers was outstanding, hitting 20-28 for 312 yards and a touchdown with an interception while Mike Glass II was 2-5 for 35 yards.
Blake Banham, Arthur Jackson III and Matthew Sexton led the EMU receiving corps with a combined 15 receptions for 264 yards with Sexton hauling in a 75 yard scoring strike. The Eagles did little on the ground with Shaq Vann totaling 44 yards on seven totes to lead the offense.
The Buffalo Bulls turned to their offense in week two to down Temple 36-29 as a four point road dog. Buffalo held a 427-355 yardage edge and held a 3-1 turnover advantage with nearly 36 minutes of possession.
Bulls quarterback Tyree Jackson hit 26-45 for 275 yards and three touchdowns with a pick. Anthony Johnson led UB with six catches for 76 yards and a score while Charlie Jones caught three balls for 63 yards and a TD.
Kevin Marks gave the Bulls a strong game on the ground with 138 yards on 25 carries and a pair of trips to the end zone. While Buffalo limited mistakes the special teams had a punt blocked for a Purdue touchdown.
Under is 7-0 in EMU last 7 games in September and over is 4-0-1 in EMU last 5 conference games and over is 5-0-1 in EMU last 6 games on fieldturf. Over is 3-0-1 in Buffalo last 4 games following a straight up win and Buffalo are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a winning road record and are 4-0 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. EMU are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings.
Eastern Michigan have been a strong cover team on the road but I am looking at a let down after upsetting Purdue on the road…
