CFB | BYU Cougars (7-4) at California Golden Bears (5-6)

The Cal Golden Bears and the BYU Cougars face off on Saturday in Berkley in college football action.

The California Golden Bears enter their final game of the regular season at 5-6 meaning they need a win to become bowl eligible. Cal has lost five of their last six games and are coming off of a one sided loss against rival Stanford last Saturday. The Cal offense is averaging 38.5 points and 488.7 yards per game led by QB Jared Goff who has completed 61.8 percent of his passes with 31 touchdowns and six interceptions. Daniel Lasco has rushed for 985 yards and 12 touchdowns and Bryce Treggs has 46 receptions and six touchdowns and Stephen Anderson and Chris Harper have 44 receptions each. The Cal defense is allowing 39.5 points and 509.2 yards per game with 15 takeaways and 13 sacks. Michael Barton has 75 tackles, Michael Lowe has 68 tackles, and Hardy Nickerson has 62 tackles. Cal is much improved over last season but it has been a rough in Pac-12 play.

The BYU Cougars are 7-4 this season and they are riding a three game winning streak coming onto this game. The BYU offense is averaging 35.6 points and 455.5 yards per game and they are led by QB Christian Stewart who has completed 58.2 percent of his passes with 17 touchdowns and five interceptions. Jamaal Williams has rushed for 515 yards and four touchdowns but he is out forthis one and Mitch Mathews is the Cougars leading receiver with 63 catches and eight touchdowns. The BYU defense is allowing 24.4 points and 367.6 yards per game with 20 takeaways and 23 sacks. Zac Stout has 60 tackles, Skye Povey has 59 tackles, and Craig Bills has 50 tackles. BYU plays every game like they have something to prove.

Cal is 9-19 against the spread in their last 28 games, 5-2 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 5-16 against the spread in their last 21 home games. BYU is 4-1 against the spread against a team with a losing home record, 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 home games, and 1-4 against the spread following a win.

The total is set at 73.5 an I like the under for my free pick as this number looks to aggressive. I also have a play on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
