The surging South Florida Bulls battle instate rival the Central Florida Knights to end the regular season.
The South Florida Bulls have gotten their scoring and defense going which has led to wins in six of seven after pummeling Cincinnati 65-27 in week 12. The Bulls ended this quickly with a 51-3 lead at the half on the way to a 561-430 yardage edge. The Bulls gave the ball away three times but forced the Bearcats in to six turnovers including a pick six. Quarterback Quinton Flowers completed 9-15 for 165 yards and four touchdowns with a pair of interceptions with Rodney Adams catching a TD pass while Sean Price caught a pair of scoring strikes. USF received 106 rushing yards and two scores on eleven touches from Marlon Mack with Darius Tice and D’Earnest Johnson combining for another 165 yards.
The Central Florida Knights are in an obvious rebuilding mode with an 0-11 record because of their scoring and defensive issues. That trend continued in a 44-7 loss to visiting East Carolina in week 12. The Pirates amassed over 600 yards with 456 coming through the air while the Knights mustered 232 yards and turned the ball over three times. Quarterback Justin Holman completed 9-17 for 110 yards and a touchdown and interception with Tre’Quan Smith snaring four balls for 50 yards and an eleven yard score. UCF received 50 yards on the ground from Taj McGowan but the offense needed double the production to be competitive.
The Bulls are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game and are 6-0-1 ATS in their last 7 games on grass while going 1-9 ATS in their last 10 Thursday games. The Knights are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 home games and the over is 4-0 in Knights last 4 home games vs. a team with a winning road record while the Knights are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games after accumulating less than 275 total yards in their previous game. No line is out because Holman is questionable but I’ll be on the Bulls in some form…
