|Date & Time||Saturday November 22, 2014, 12:00 PM (EST)|
The Line: Central Florida Knights -26 -- Over/Under:
The Southern Methodist Mustangs head to the Sunshine State to battle the Central Florida Knights.
Southern Methodist is still looking to break in to the win column for the first time and the season is beginning to run out on them. The Mustangs appeared to have their first win versus visiting South Florida but the Bulls scored a touchdown with a mere four seconds remaining to escape with a 14-13 victory in week 12. The Bulls held a 378-257 yardage advantage but lost a pair of fumbles which hurt them on the scoreboard. The Mustangs did all their damage in the first half where they led 13-0 although moving the chains wasn't easy. Matt Davis gave SNU 53 rushing yards on eleven totes while completing 22-31 for 189 yards in the air with a three yard scoring toss to Justin Lawler.
The Central Florida Knights obviously lost loads of talent from last season but they certainly haen't fallen off of the map. The Knights shutdown visiting Tulsa 31-7 in week 12 to improve to 6-3 0n the year behind dominant performances on both sides of the ball. The Golden Hurricane barely cracked 200 yards which made three turnovers hurt even more while the Knights rolled up 506 yards with the ability to run and throw. Dontravious Wilson totaled 87 rushing yards on 17 carries with a one yard scoring run while Micah Reed and William Stanback combined for another 97 yards. Justin Holman had a big night in the air with a 16-27 performance for 291 yards and three touchdowns including a 77 yarder to Joshua Reese.
The over is 5-0 in Mustangs last 5 games after accumulating less than 275 total yards in their previous game and is 6-0 in Mustangs last 6 games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous game while the under is 4-0 in Mustangs last 4 games following a ATS win. For Central Florida the under is 4-0 in Knights last 4 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and is 5-1 in Knights last 6 games following a SU win of more than 20 points while the Knights are 1-5 ATS vs. a team with a losing record. Head to head the home team is 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings and the favorite is 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings. This is a big spread but Central Florida will be looking towards a nice Bowl and have the potential to win big so right now I'll back them...
