The Central Florida Knights look to finish the season strong beginning with the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.
The Tulsa Golden Hurricane's season is over from a competitive standpoint but two of their three remaining games are against the top two squads in the AAC. It begins with a trip to Central Florida where they come off a 38-28 decision versus Southern Methodist in week eleven. This was decided by the better offense and fewer mistakes and Tulsa was tops in both areas with a 501-464 edge in yardage and a 3-1 turnover advantage. Both teams were able to run and throw with Dane Evans burning the Mustangs secondary with 286 yards and five touchdowns with Keevan Lucas and Keyarris Garrett on the receiving end of a pair of scores. Zack Langer was dominant on the ground with 167 yards on 33 touches as the Golden Hurricane enjoyed one of their most productive offensive games.
The Central Florida Knights had a golden opportunity to take over sole possession of first in the AAC but instead a 37-29 defeat at Connecticut heading in to their bye has the team tied with three other one loss squads. The Knights defense held the Huskies to only 327 yard but gave the ball away four times which hurt their 429 yards. Balance was not a problem for Central Florida as they were equally effective on the ground or in the air. Quarterback Justin Holman completed 22-42 for 284 yards with a pair of touchdowns and four interceptions with JJ Worton hauling in eleven balls for 178 yards and a 73 yard touchdown. William Stanbeck was unstoppable on the ground with 141 yards on 28 touches with a pair of trips to the endzone.
The over is 5-0 in Golden Hurricane last 5 conference games and is 4-0 in Golden Hurricane last 4 games overall while the over is 7-0 in Golden Hurricane last 7 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game. For Central Florida the under is 4-0 in Knights last 4 games following a S.U. loss and the Knights are 0-5 ATS vs. a team with a losing record while the under is 6-1 in Knights last 7 games following a bye week. Head to head the Golden Hurricane are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings and the favorite is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 meetings while the home team is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings. This is a huge spread and Central Florida is not the same team they were the past few seasons but they are coming off a bye and a terrible loss so for now I'll back them but I have minimal interest...
