Clemson will try to keep rolling as they take on Appalachian State at home this Saturday.
12th ranked Clemson is coming off of a big win 49-10 over Wofford. Quarterback Deshaun Watson went 18/22 for 194 yards and 2 touchdowns. Running back Wayne Gallman recorded 14 carries for 92 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ray-Ray McCloud and Artavis Scott led Clemson in receiving with a combined 12 receptions for 155 yards and a touchdown. Clemson’s defense played a solid game only allowing 10 points. T.J Green led the defense with 8 tackles. Clemson got off to a big start and cruised to an easy win. Now Clemson will face Appalachian St a tougher opponent then Wofford but they shouldn’t have much trouble.
Appalachian St got their season started with a big win against Howard 49-0. Quarterback Taylor Lamb was 16/21 for 209 yards and 3 touchdowns. Running back Marcus Cox averaged 9.5 yards a carry last week. Cox had 11 caries for 105 yards and a touchdown. Running back Jalin moore also added 64 more yards on the ground. Shaedon Meadors and Simme McElfresh led Appalachian St in receiving with a combined 8 receptions for 115 yards and 2 touchdowns. Appalachian St’s defense held Howard to 0 points. The Defense was lead by Latrell Gibbs who led the team with 1 interception. Appalachian will now have a tough task taking on Clemson this week.
