It perhaps wouldn't be fair to say Washington coach Chris Peterson is on the chopping block, but after a few seasons in which the Huskies (6-4, 3-4) reached the brink of their high expectations, they look like just a middle of the road Power 5 team this year. Their finish to this season will do a lot to prepare them for a critical year for Peterson and the program.
Defense has been the hallmark of Washington under Peterson. The Huskies looked like themselves in their most recent game on Nov. 9 against Oregon State, coming away with a 19-7 win. They held the Beavers to just 119 total yards and 1 of 13 on third-down attempts. On offense, they got 174 rushing yards from junior back Salvon Ahmed, who has 886 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on the season.
Colorado (4-6, 2-5) lost five in the row and fell to the bottom of the Pac 12's South Division before snapping their losing streak on Nov. 9 against Stanford. With two games remaining, the Buffaloes are looking to end the season at .500.
Senior receiver Tony Brown has been a consistent target this season for Colorado, with multiple catches in each game. He has totaled 656 yards and five rushing touchdowns. Against Arizona on Oct. 5, he ran for 141 yards and also added a 15-yard touchdown reception.
The Huskies are having a disappointing year, but the Huskies are a team that has really looked like a good team that could play good in this game. The Buffaloes are one team that has not been able to play good on the offensive side of the ball and that makes it easier for Washington to win this game. Final Score Prediction, Washington Huskies win and cover 31-14.
