Air Force Falcons (2-2) at Colorado State Rams (2-4)
|Date & Time||Saturday October 17, 2015, 3:30 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Colorado State Rams 0 -- Over/Under: 54
The Air Force Falcons take their option to Hughes Stadium to take the field with the Colorado State Rams.
The Air Force Falcons were supposed to suffer a drop with some of their talent graduating from 2014 and I think that is true although the extent of the drop off is still a mystery to me. The Falcons didn’t have a problem disposing of Wyoming who mustered just over 300 yards and gave the ball away four times. AFA ran the ball well and threw just enough to keep the Cowboys defense off guard with a total of 379 yards being more then enough. Quarterback Karson Roberts didn’t give the AFA passing attack much with a 4-9 effort for 24 yards and a pick but Jalen Robinette hit Garrett Brown with a 56 yard scoring strike. Roberts did give the Falcons 78 yards on the ground and a TD but Shayne Davern defined the rushing attack with 130 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
I didn’t think the Colorado State Rams would be as fearsome as they were a season ago with the talent lost but I didn’t see a 2-4 record either although a pair of overtime losses could easily been wins. Having said that the Boise State Broncos delivered a 41-10 beating in week six as neither side of the ball enjoyed success. The Broncos rolled up almost 600 yards and allowed 256 yards with the Rams giving the ball away three times. Coleman Key didn’t move the chains with the pass with a 5-19 day for 56 yards with a TD and a pair of interceptions but Nick Stevens gave the Rams 60 passing yards on 8-10 which still wasn’t enough. Rashard Higgins and Kivon Cartwright combined for five catches and 85 yards with Jasen Oden leading Colorado State on the ground with 52 yards on 19 totes.
The under is 4-0 in Falcons last 4 conference games and the Falcons are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a losing home record while going 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games in October. Under is 7-0 in The Rams last 7 vs. a team with a winning record and are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. loss while going 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing more than 450 total yards in their previous game. The over is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings in Colorado State and is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings while the Falcons are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 meetings. I think Air Force will be able to run on the Colorado State defense in this coin flip….
