The Hawaii Warriors make the long trip to Hughes Stadium to take the field with the Colorado State Rams.
The Hawaii Warriors look to solve their scoring woes when they visit Colorado State on Saturday. The Warriors have normally had a big advantage at home but the scoring has still been an issue and the defense has not been able to win on their lonesome. Home field was not much help in a 35-14 defeat at the hands of Utah State. Yardage was about equal but UH turned the ball over three times with the Aggies returning a fumble for a touchdown. While Utah State was able to move the chains through the air and on the ground the Warriors main weapon was the passing of Ikaika Woolsey. Woolsey hit 26-46 for 356 yards with a touchdown and a pair of interceptions. Steven Lakalaka ran for 57 yards but the issue is this offense needs an identity.
Colorado State might have been a surprise team a season ago but after seven consecutive victories I don't think they are surprising anyone or sneaking up on teams. The Rams outscored San Jose State 38-31 in week ten to notch win number seven in a row. CSU is a capable scoring and defensive team and their offense carried the day in this one as the Spartans totaled almost 500 yards with the Rams countering with 403 yards. Quarterback Garrett Grayson connected on 22-28 for 290 yards with a seven yard touchdown throw to Rashard Higgins with Higgins grabbing eight passes for 143 yards. Dee Hart paced the rushing attack with 104 yards on 24 carries with four trips to the endzone. The numbers say SJSU could have won this but Colorado State finds ways to win.
The Warriors are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a winning home record while the over is 6-1 in Rainbow Warriors last 7 games in November and is 5-1 in Rainbow Warriors last 6 games following a double-digit loss at home. For Colorado State the under is 4-0 in Rams last 4 games following a ATS win while the Rams are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games after accumulating more than 280 yards passing in their previous game and the over is 5-1 in Rams last 6 vs. a team with a losing record. Both teams are banged up with Grayson having a groin issue which is the reason no line has been released so please check back Friday when we might know something...
