Week four college football brings us the Colorado State Rams hosting the Illinois State Redbirds.
The Illinois State Redbirds went in to their off week off of a 48-10 rout of Eastern Illinois in week two. Illinois State jumped to a 28-0 lead after two quarters and never looked back behind strong performances on both sides of the football.
The Redbirds were dominant on the ground and in the air with quarterback Brady Davis completing 17-23 for 317 yards and four touchdowns. Spencer Schnell was the ISU receiver of choice with eight receptions for 174 and a pair of scores while Andrew Edgar caught four balls for 82 yards and a TD.
The Illinois State rushing attack was productive as well behind James Robinson who rumbled for 153 yards on 15 carries and a trip to the end zone while averaging over ten yards per touch followed Markel Smith who totaled 86 yards on 15 tries.
The Colorado State Rams couldn’t crack the Florida defense in a 48-10 week three loss as a three touchdown road dog. Colorado State lost the yardage battle 341-310 but fumbled four times and lost three.
Rams quarterback KJ Carta-Samuels hit 21-33 for 217 yards and lost 34 yards on the ground. Preston Williams topped the Colorado State receiving corps with 106 yards on nine catches while Trey McBridge caught three balls for 60 yards and a score. The Rams averaged less then two yards per rush and allowed fumble and punt returns for scores.
