The New Mexico Lobos and the Colorado State Rams will match up in college football action on Saturday from Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium.

New Mexico enters this game at 3-2 overall. After two victories against Incarnate Word and NM State sandwiched around a blowout loss to Wisconsin, the Lobos fell to Liberty and took out UNLV.

In the UNLV game, New Mexico QB Sheriron Jones put up 250 yards with four touchdowns, and also led the rush on 72 yards from nine carries. Tops in receiving for the Lobos was Delane Hart-Johnson, with 80 yards and a TD off six grabs.

Over on the Colorado State side, they’re sitting at 2-4 on the year overall. The Rams have fallen to Hawaii, Colorado, Florida and Illinois State, but have otherwise beaten Arkansas and San Jose State.

In the SJSU game, Colorado State QB KJ Carta-Samuels put up 162 yards with four TDs and two picks, and Izzy Matthews led the rush on 22 carries for 125 yards and a TD. Tops in receiving for the Rams was Preston Williams, with 67 yards and two TDs off four grabs.

The Lobos are 4-1 ATS in their last five on turf and 5-2 ATS in their last seven in October. New Mexico is also 5-11 ATS versus a team with a losing record and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 overall.

Meanwhile, the Rams are 2-6 ATS in their last eight on turf and 1-4 ATS versus a team with a winning record. Colorado State is 2-11 ATS in their last 13 overall and 1-7 ATS in their last eight conference games.

New Mexico’s offense was pretty impressive against UNLV, and really aside from that Wisconsin game they’ve been putting up points pretty regularly. In four of their five games this year, the Lobos have managed to hit at least 42 points.

As for the Rams, they can put up points as well, but they’re also prone to offensive lulls. In three of their games this season, Colorado State has put up fewer than 20 points.

All things considered here, I have to stick with the Lobos for the cover.

New Mexico Lobos +1
