The Wyoming Cowboys fell to 2-2 (0-0 MW) on the season after being defeated by the Eastern Michigan Eagles, 27-24, this past Saturday. Wyoming played the Eagles tough but couldn’t fight back after Eastern Michigan took the lead with just 1:35 left on an Ian Eriksen rushing TD. The Colorado State Rams had their two game winning streak snapped and fell to 2-2 (0-0 MW) on the season after being defeated by the Minnesota Golden Gophers, 31-24, this past Saturday. Colorado State had trouble stopping the rushing attack of the Golden Gophers and couldn’t overcome a 17-7 halftime deficit. Colorado State was outgained by Minnesota by a 417-369 margin and lost the turnover battle by a 2-1 margin. Leading the way for Colorado State was WR Michael Gallup who had 6 catches for 53 yards and a TD. On the season, Colorado State is averaging 25.3 ppg on 372.8 total yards per game (216.5 passing, 181.8 rushing). Offensively, leading the way for the Rams has been rushing attack trio of Izzy Matthews (9.5 att/game, 42.75 yds/game, TD), Dalyn Dawkins (13.33 att/game, 56.0 yds/game, TD), and Marvin Kinsey, Jr. (9.5 att/game, 41.3 yds/game, 2 TD). The Rams have committed 7 turnovers on the season and have a turnover margin of minus 2.
The Cowboys are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games in October however, are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games. The Rams are 12-3-2 ATS in their last 17 games following a straight up loss and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win.
Wyoming has one of the best RB’s in the Mountain West in Brian Hill and with solid QB play from Josh Allen, the Cowboys are currently averaging almost more than 2 TD’s better on offense than they did in 2015. Colorado State had a rough start to their season against in-state rival in Colorado however, have a solid rushing attack and have to be optimistic with the play they’ve gotten out of freshman QB Collin Hill. Colorado State is always a difficult place to play but I think Colorado State will have a tough time against Brian Hill in this one and as I think the Cowboys defense will force the young QB for the Rams into making a few mistakes, I’m taking Wyoming and the points in this one.
