The Central Florida Knights make the long trip up the east coast to face the Connecticut Huskies at Rentschler Field.
The Central Florida Knights travel to Connecticut in week ten looking to build on the momentum of their five game winning streak. The Knights rode a strong first half to a 31-14 lead against Temple before turning things over to their defense in a 34-14 decision. The boxscore told the story with UCF totaling 466 yards with the Owls held to only 182 yards with four turnovers and ten first downs. The Knights dominated the Temple secondary in the air with Justin Holman hitting 25-39 for 336 yards with a pair of touchdowns with Breshad Perrman grabbing making seven catches for 146 yards including a 54 yard touchdown. William Stanbeck was the only runner of note with 94 yards on 27 carries with two scores.
The Connecticut Huskies look for something positive when Central Florida comes to town Saturday. The Huskies need a boost after they suffered defeat number five in a row following a 31-21 decision at East Carolina in week nine action. UConn went toe to toe with the Pirates until late in the game although the numbers favored the Pirates who piled up 580 yards and 31 first downs with the Huskies checking in with 397 yards and 16 first downs. The defense couldn't control Shane Carden in the air with his 445 yards and tw scores although Chandler Whitmer was none too shabby with 303 yards on 18-30 for 303 yards with 32 yard and 88 yard touchdowns to Noel Thomas and Deshon Foxx respectively. The rushing attack was unremarkable with less then 90 yards and barely a three yard average. UConn hit a few plays to score and ECU didn't score as much as they should have.
The over is 5-0 in Knights last 5 road games vs. a team with a losing home record with the Knights going 0-4 ATS vs. a team with a losing record while the Knights are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game. For Connecticut the under is 6-0 in Huskies last 6 games following a S.U. loss with the Huskies going 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games while the under is 4-0 in Huskies last 4 games overall. The weather is supposed to be awful in the northeast Saturday so I don't think this is a solid betting opportunity so take this for what it's worth and check back Friday...
