The Line: East Carolina Pirates -5 -- Over/Under: 54
The South Florida Bulls hope to get back in the win column when they travel to the East Carolina Pirates.
The South Florida Bulls fell to 4-4 following a 29-17 road loss to Navy in week nine. The Bulls stood toe to with the Midshipmen until the Middies went on a 13-0 4th quarter run to pull away. Navy dominated the boxscore with a 444-270 yardage edge with over 39 minutes of possession. Quarterback Quinton Flowers gave South Florida a viable passing attack with 208 yards on 12-20 with top receiver Rodney Adams grabbing three balls for 86 yards. The Bulls have generally generated a decent rushing attack behind Marlon Mack but he was held to just 29 yards on ten carries with a touchdown.
The East Carolina Pirates are in a dangerous spot following a 31-13 defeat at Connecticut which has the team staring at a 4-5 record with defeats in three of four. The Pirates were outgained 404-340 and lost the turnover battle 4-2 with one of their touchdowns coming on DaShawn Benton’s 32 yards pick six. Blake Kemp struggled under center on 7-11 for 50 yards and three killer interceptions so ECU turned to James Summers who completed 12-21 for 87 yards and another interception with Isaiah Jones leading the receiving corps with nine receptions for 85 yards. Marquez Grayson and Chris Grayson gave East Carolina a combined 163 rushing yards on 21 carries.
The Bulls are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games on grass and are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game while the under is 10-1-1 in Bulls last 12 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game. The Pirates are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 conference games and the over is 5-1 in Pirates last 6 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game while the Pirates are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games in November. The home team is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings and the Bulls are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings. Even though the Bulls fell apart against Navy I like the way they have been playing so I’ll take the points…
