James Guillory-USA TODAY Sports

The Memphis Tigers and East Carolina Pirates meet Saturday in college football action at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.

The Memphis Tigers look for their first road victory of the season to get a game above a .500 record. The Memphis Tigers have lost each of their last four road games. Brady White is completing 63.1 percent of his passes for 1,966 yards, 17 touchdowns and three interceptions. White has two or more touchdown passes in four of his last six games. Damonte Coxie and Pop Williams have combined for 913 receiving yards and six touchdowns while Tony Pollard has 22 receptions. The Memphis Tigers ground game is averaging 266 yards per contest, and Henderson leads the way with 1,148 yards and 13 touchdowns. Defensively, Memphis is allowing 30.4 points and 399.9 yards per game. Curtis Akins leads the Memphis Tigers with 58 tackles, Bryce Huff has five sacks and T.J. Carter has one interception.

The East Carolina Pirates could simply use a feel good victory here after losing four of their last five games. The East Carolina Pirates have split their last eight home games. Reid Herring is completing 55.4 percent of his passes for 1,502 yards, six touchdowns and seven interceptions. Herring and Holton Ahlers have combined for eight touchdown passes and eight interceptions this season. Trevon Brown and Deondre Farrier have combined for 941 receiving yards and six touchdowns while Blake Proehl has 23 receptions. The East Carolina Pirates ground game is averaging 118.5 yards per contest, and Holton Ahlers leads the way with 317 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, East Carolina is allowing 32.9 points and 362 yards per game. Devon Sutton leads the East Carolina Pirates with 46 tackles, Nate Harvey has 7.5 sacks and Corey Seargent has two interceptions.

The Tigers are 20-7-2 ATS in their last 29 games in November, 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 conference games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games. The Pirates are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games, 7-28-1 ATS in their last 36 conference games and 14-37-1 ATS in their last 52 games overall. The Tigers are 0-8 ATS in their last 8 meetings in East Carolina, 2-14 ATS in their last 16 meetings and the favorite is 8-0 ATS in their last 8 meetings.

The Memphis Tigers have had an extra week to prepare for this game, but they're being outscored by 16.5 points in their last two games. The East Carolina Pirates have allowed no less than 35 points in each of their last four games and are still being outscored by an average of six points at home despite that being where their only two victories have come. The Memphis Tigers have covered eight of their last 10 games as a double-digit favorite. The East Carolina Pirates have failed to cover 13 of their last 15 games as a double-digit underdog. I have more confidence in Memphis turning things around than I do in East Carolina covering a number, something they have done very little of over the years. So, I'll take Memphis in a blowout victory.

Memphis Tigers -12.5
