Central Michigan Chippewas (5-4) at Eastern Michigan Eagles (2-6)
|Date & Time||Saturday November 1, 2014, 1:00 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Eastern Michigan Eagles +17 -- Over/Under: 48.5
The Eastern Michigan Eagles hope to give the crowd at Rynearson Stadium something to cheer about when the Central Michigan Chippewas visit.
The Central Michigan Chippewas head to Rynearson Stadium looking to build more momentum after a 20-14 victory at Buffalo in week nine was their third in four games. The key for the Chippewas was not to let Joe Licata and the Bulls air attack do a ton of damage and that was mission accompliched with Licata throwing for 233 yards and two scores and a pair of interceptions with UB totaling a mere 271 yards overall. CMU didn't set the world on fire with 341 yards with quarterback Cooper Rush hitting 14-24 for 231 yards with Titus Davis grabbing a seven yard scoring toss. Davis led the receiving corps with six catches for 100 yards while Saylor Lavallii and Martez Walker combined for 137 yards on 37 touches with Lavallii scoring twice.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles look to cool down visiting Central Michigan in MAC action on Saturday. If so the offense will have to do better then we saw then in their 28-17 loss to Northern Illinois in week nine. The EMU defense kept this competitive with both teams accumulating around 380 yards with the Huskies doing their damage on the ground while the Eagles were run heavy with a bit of passing mixed in. The offense in a nutshell was quarterback Reginald Bell Jr. who connected on 16-34 for 124 yards and an interception while using his legs for another 133 yards and a four yard scoring run while Ryan Brumfield added 118 yards and a touchdown to form a nice combination in the rushing attack. The key is to find a more consistent passing game with a few stretch the field options to keep opposing defenses wary.
The Chippewas are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game and are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games in November while the under is 8-1 in Chippewas last 9 games following a ATS win. For Eastern Michigan the Eagles are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a double-digit loss at home and are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games after accumulating more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game with the over going 9-1 in Eagles last 10 games following a double-digit loss at home. Head to head the over is 6-1 in the last 7 meetings and is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Eastern Michigan while the Chippewas are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings. There are some injuries in this game which has the oddsmakers in no hurry to set a line so please check back Friday when hopefully things are cleared up...
