The Line: Boston College Eagles +8.5 -- Over/Under: 51.5
The Florida State Seminoles make the long trip to Alumni Stadium to take on the rival Boston College Eagles.
The Florida State Seminoles kicked the season off with their second victory in a 34-14 win against a stubborn South Florida in week two. On paper this was a perfect opponent for the Seminoles with the Bulls unable to move the ball and score consistently. That eventually proved to be the case with USF limited to 274 yards and eleven first downs. The Seminoles totaled 441 yards with most coming during a 24 point second half where a bruising rushing attack took over. FSU saw Dalvin Cook scored on runs of 24 yards, 37 yards and 74 yards on his way to 266 yards on 30 totes. The Noles passing game was adequate with Everett Golson going 14-26 for 163 yards and a score with Travis Rudolph and Jesus Wilson combining for nine catches for 109 yards.
The Boston College Eagles opened 2015 with a pair of FCS squads and a predictable 2-0 record. After a lackluster win versus Maine in the season opener the Eagles destroyed Howard 76-0 in a game that was 41-0 after 15 minutes. The boxscore tells the story with the Bison limited to only eleven yards with a pair of turnovers including a pick six. On the flip side BC logged 483 yards and dominated field position for 60 minutes. Troy Flutie threw for 88 yards and a touchdown but the Eagles generally ran the ball with Jeff Smith leading the way with 89 yards and three scores on five totes followed by a 77 yard, seven carry effort from Myles Willis. The bottom line was Boston College played everyone.
The over is 5-0 in Seminoles last 5 games on fieldturf and the Seminoles are 0-5 ATS vs. a team with a winning record while Florida State are 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game. The under is 5-0-1 in Eagles last 6 Friday games while the Eagles are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a winning road record and the over is 4-0 in Eagles last 4 games following a S.U. win. The over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Boston College and the underdog is 7-2 ATS in their last 9 meetings while the Seminoles are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 meetings. The total has dropped and I no longer like it but I’ll take the points with the line dropping…
