Florida State will get their first real test this weekend when they host the Miami Hurricanes.
Florida State is coming off of a 24-16 win over Wake Forest. Florida State looked a little shaky at times but did enough to get the win. Quarterback Everett Golson went 10/31 for 202 yards and 1 touchdown. Running back Dalvin Cook ran the ball twice for 94 yards and a touchdown. Unfortunately Cook left the game with a hamstring injury and is listed as day-to-day. Jonathan Vickers replaced cook and ran for 33 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. Wide Receivers Jesus Wilson and Travis Rudolph led the Seminoles with a combined 11 catches for 146 yards. Tyler Hunter led the defense with an interception. Florida State seemed like they were overlooking Wake Forest and focusing on their big game against Miami this week.
Miami suffered their first loss of the season against Cincinnati last week 34-23. Quarterback Brad Kaaya went 24/39 for 255 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. Running Back Joseph Yearby continued his big season rushing for 113 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. Wide Receiver Herb Waters led the team with 4 catches for 60 yards. Tyre Brady also added 5 receptions for 54 yards. Rayshawn Jenkins led the Hurricanes with the only interception. Miami will now prepare for their most important game of the season against in state rivals FSU.
The Miami Hurricanes are 0-4 against the spread in their last 4 games following an against the spread loss. Miami is 0-5 against the spread in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. Florida State is 1-5 against the spread in their last 6 home games. The Florida State Seminoles are 1-5 against the spread in their last 6 games on grass.
This is Florida State's first chance to show the nation that they belong in the top ten. While for Miami beating the Seminoles would be the highlight of their season. I think Florida State will show up to play this week and take it to Miami. Take FSU to cover the spread against Miami.
