|Date & Time||Saturday September 10, 2016, 12:30 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Florida State Seminoles -37.5 -- Over/Under: 52.5
The Charleston Southern Buccaneers and Florida State Seminoles clash Saturday afternoon at Doak Campbell Stadium.
The Charleston Southern Buccaneers could use a massive upset victory in order to get a game above a .500 record. Kyle Copeland is completing 40.9 percent of his passes for 102 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception. Copeland needs to be more of a difference maker in this contest. Colton Korn and Jared Scotland have combined for 139 receiving yards and one touchdown while Kameron Brown has three receptions. The Charleston Southern Buccaneers ground game is averaging 287 yards per contest, and Mike Holloway leads the way with 194 yards and four touchdowns. Defensively, Charleston Southern is allowing 15.5 points and 282.5 yards per game. Corbin Jackson leads the Buccaneers with 16 tackles, D.J. Curl has 1.5 sacks and Troy McGowens has one interception.
The Florida State Seminoles have a quick turnaround after beating Ole Miss Monday night. Deondre Francois is completing 63.5 percent of his passes for 419 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions. Francois now has 52 career pass attempts. Jesus Wilson and Dalvin Cook have combined for 226 receiving yards on 16 catches while Travis Rudolph has six receptions. The Florida State Seminoles ground game is averaging 161 yards per contest, and Cook leads the way with 91 yards on 23 carries. Defensively, FSU is allowing 34 points and 380 yards per game. Derwin James leads the Seminoles with eight tackles, DeMarcus Walker has 4.5 sacks and Marcus Lewis has one interception.
Charleston Southern got a lot of key players hurt on the offensive side of the ball last week and now has to play an FSU team that showed just how scary it can be when it plays to its potential. The Bucs were waxed by 50 points to Alabama late last year and you have to expect the same in this contest.
Few can play with the Noles when they decide to turn things up a notch. This game is going to get ugly.
