The Florida Gators battle the Michigan Wolverines in the Peach Bowl in Saturday college football action.
The Florida Gators ended the regular season with three consecutive wins to finish 8-4. Florida was strong offensively with 427 yards and 34.5 points with the #28 ground game averaging 210 yards.
The Gators continued to be a very good defense with 340 yards turning in to 20 points with the top ten passing defense allowing 173 yards.
UF quarterback Feleipe Franks completed 58.5% of his throws for 2,284 yards for 23 touchdowns and six interceptions. Van Jefferson was the top Gators receiver with 439 yards on 31 catches while Trevon Grimes and Josh Hammond combined for 51 receptions for 674 yards.
Lamical Perine and Jordan Scarlett were the backbones of the Gators ground game with 1,467 yards on 250 carries and almost six yards per touch.
The Michigan Wolverines began the season with a loss to Notre Dame and ended the season with a loss to Ohio State to go 10-2.
Michigan averaged 36.8 points on 427 yards with the #26 rushing attack averaging over 214 yards. The Wolverines were the top ranked defense in the game with 262.5 yards and 17.6 points allowed with the #2 pass defense giving up a mere 146 yards.
Michigan quarterback Shea Patterson connected on 64.8% of his throws for 2,364 yards with 21 touchdowns and five interceptions.
Nico Collins, Donovan Peoples-Jones and Zach Gentry were the Wolverines receivers of choice with 102 receptions for over 1,500 yards.
Karan Higdon was the Michigan workhorse on the ground with 1,178 yards on 224 touches with ten scores and a 5.3 yard average.
