The Line: Florida Gators +6.5 -- Over/Under:
The Florida Gators and the Ole Miss Rebels face off on Saturday in The Swamp in a SEC college football battle of unbeaten teams.
The Florida Gators are off to a 4-0 start and are coming off an exhilarating win over Tennessee. The Florida offense is averaging 33.5 points and 404 yards per game and they have turned the ball over six times. Florida QB Will Grier has completed 62.6 percent of his passes with six touchdowns and three interceptions and he has rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns. The Gators leading rusher in Kelvin Taylor who is averaging 4.3 yards per carry with five touchdowns and Demarcus Robinson leads UF in receptions with 20. The Florida defense is allowing 18.2 points and 298.2 yards per game with four interceptions, 14 sacks, and three fumble recoveries. Jarrad Davis leads Florida with 32 tackles, Marcus Maye has 26 tackles, and Antonio Morrison has 23 tackles. Florida is bouncing back from several bad seasons and while they haven’t been overly impressive in any game, they have gotten it done as far as winning games.
The Ole Miss Rebels avoided a let down after their big win over Alabama as they beat Vanderbilt on Saturday to remain unbeaten. The Ole Miss offense is averaging 54.8 points and 543.5 yards per game and they have turned the ball over six times. QB Chad Kelly leads Mississippi’s offense completing 61.7 percent of his passes with 10 touchdowns and three interceptions and he has also rushed for three touchdowns. Jaylen Walton is the Rebels top rusher averaging 6.4 yards per carry and Laquon Treadwell is the top receiver with 22 catches. The Ole Miss defense is allowing 19.2 points and 357.8 yards per game with seven interceptions, three sacks, and three fumble recoveries. Denzell Nkemdiche is Mississippi’s top tackler with 29, Trae Elston has 19 tackles and three interceptions, and Demarquis Gates has 18 tackles. Ole Miss beat Bama on the road so tough buildings are nothing new to this team.
The defense rules the day here as moving the ball is going to be tough going so my free pick is under the total that is set at 51.5. My stronger pick is on the winning team against the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
