CFB | Colorado State Rams (6-5) at Fresno State Bulldogs (3-8)

The Colorado State Rams visit Bulldog Stadium to take the field with the Fresno State Bulldogs.

The Colorado State Rams were looking dead in the water a few short weeks ago before coming to life with three consecutive victories to raise their record to 6-5. The Rams are coming off of a 28-21 win at New Mexico where they outgained the Lobos 485-326 and intercepted three passes. Quarterback Nick Stevens gave CSU 264 passing yards and a touchdown on 16-23 with Rashard Higgins logging eight receptions for 140 yards. The tandem of Dalyn Dawkins and Izzy Matthews gave the Colorado State rushing attack some punch with a combined 183 yards on 37 carries.

Too often the Fresno State Bulldogs have had problems finding the end zone and keeping opponents out which is why their record stands at 3-8. The trends continued in a 52-10 defeat at Brigham Young in week 12. The Cougars took a 24-3 lead at the break and never let up on the way to 520 yards while limiting the Bulldogs to 275 yards and three turnovers. Fresno State needed a viable rushing attack to keep BYU off the field but Marteze Waller’s 47 yard, 18 carry effort was the best on the team. Quarterback Zach Greenlee couldn’t get the Bulldogs moving through the air with 125 yards and three interceptions on 14-41with Jamire Jordan catching eight balls for 54 yards.

The Rams are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games in November and are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall while going  4-1 ATS in their last 5 conference games. The over is 5-0 in Bulldogs last 5 games after allowing more than 450 total yards in their previous game and the Bulldogs are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games after allowing more than 450 total yards in their previous game while going  0-4 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. The Rams are still plying for the postseason so I’ll back them…

Colorado State -8.5

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
