The Wyoming Cowboys look to save their season with a trip to Bulldog Stadium to face the Fresno State Bulldogs.
The Wyoming Cowboys won't be a factor in the MWC when they tangle with Fresno State Saturday but a Bowl berth could be on the line. The Cowboys are hoping to rebound from a 45-31 loss at Colorado State that had to leave a bad taste in their mouth entering their bye. This wasn't as close as the score indicates with a 21 point 4th quarter making the scoreboard look better with most of their 454 yards coming late. The bottom line was the Rams were unstoppable with 558 yards with over 400 coming in the air. Colby Kirkegaard and the Cowboys were none too shabby in the air with 335 yards and a pair of 4th quarter touchdowns and the rushing attack wasn't bad either with Brian Hill totaling 128 yards and two scores but stopping Colorado State just didn't happen.
The Fresno State Bulldogs come out of their bye week with a Mountain West battle with Wyoming in a game they need to stay in the running for a Bowl invitation. The Bulldogs dropped a 37-27 decision on the blue turf of Boise State as they entered their bye week. This was a competitive contest on the scoreboard with the Broncos scoring the final ten points of the game but they totaled almost 500 yards with Fresno countering with 313 yards. Brian Burrell connected on 13-25 for 127 yards with a 32 yard scoring strike to Josh Harper while also throwing an interception. The running of Marteze Waller kept the Bulldogs alive with 164 yards on 18 carries with a three yard TD following a Broncos fumble while his 76yard scoring jaunt in the first half kept Fresno within striking distance.
The Cowboys are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games after allowing more than 40 points in their previous game and are 0-6 ATS vs. a team with a losing record while going 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games in November. For Fresno State the under is 3-0-1 in Bulldogs last 4 games following a ATS win and the over is 4-0 in Bulldogs last 4 games following a S.U. loss while the under is 3-0-1 in Bulldogs last 4 games after allowing more than 450 total yards in their previous game. I see both teams in desperate need of a win and I think Fresno State wins but I'll back the points in a game of mystery teams...
