The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns and the Georgia Southern Eagles will meet up on the college football circuit Saturday.
Louisiana enters this game with a 3-1 mark overall. The Cajuns fell to MS State to open up the year, but have since taken out Liberty, Texas Southern and Ohio.
In the Ohio win, Louisiana QB Levi Lewis had 188 yards and two scores, while Elijah Mitchell did most of the heavy lifting on offense, rushing for 143 yards and three touchdowns of his own.
Over on the GA Southern side, they’re 1-2 this year. The Eagles took out Maine in their second game but otherwise fell to LSU and Minnesota.
In the loss to the Gophers, Georgia Southern QB Justin Tomlin had 75 yards on just five completions, but also led the team in the rushing game with 57 yards and a TD.
The Cajuns are 4-0 ATS in their last four games in September and 6-1 ATS versus a team with a losing record. Louisiana is 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS win.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are 5-1 ATS in their last six in September and 7-2 ATS in their last nine home games. Georgia Southern is 1-4 ATS in their last five on grass and the over is 4-1 in their last five conference games.
Louisiana dispelled some nice run capability in the Ohio game, as their two top backs combined for 272 yards and four scores. The Cajuns seem to be hitting their stride this season, and I don’t think the Eagles will be able to keep up. I’m going Louisiana on the cover here.
