The Troy Trojans visit the Georgia Dome to face the Georgia State Panthers in week 13 action.

The Troy Trojans season is over from a competitive point of view  but they have shown some positives although their 3-7 record says much more improvement is needed. The Trojans are coming off of a 45-10 loss to visiting Georgia Southern with the Eagles rolling up a 410-298 edge in yards with three forced turnovers. The Trojans need to throw to have success but quarterback Brandon Silvers completed just 12-24 for 154 yards and an interception. With Teddy Ruben catching four balls for 51 yards while Brandon Burks and his 50 yards representing the rushing attack.

The Georgia State Panthers received no respect heading in to the season but they have indeed shown some improvement. The Panthers have won back to back contest after a 24-10 win versus visiting South Alabama on the strength of a 17-0 second half run. GSU held a 384-284 edge in real estate with most coming through the air. Quarterback Nick Arbuckle completed 27-44 for 311 yards and a touchdown with Donovan Harden, Penny Hart and Robert Davis catching seven passes each for 238 yards in a solid Panthers passing attack. The ground game was a 14 carry, 46 yards effort from Glenn Smith.

The Trojans are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games on fieldturf and are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Friday games while the over is 4-0 in Trojans last 4 games following a ATS loss. The Panthers are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games after accumulating more than 280 yards passing in their previous game and are 3-0-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record while going  3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 conference games. I hope to have a better grip on this game as the week progresses but for now…

Troy +1

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
