The Line: Georgia Bulldogs +10 -- Over/Under:
The Georgia Bulldogs and the Auburn Tigers face off on Saturday Between the Hedges in week 11 SEC college football action.
The Georgia Bulldogs are 5-4 this season and they are coming off of a win at Kentucky but they have lost 4 of their last games. The Georgia offense has completed 23.7 points and 382.7 yards per game and they have turned the ball over 13 times. Bulldogs QB Jacob Eason has completed 53.3 percent of his passes with 11 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Nick Chubb is Georgia’s leading rusher with 691 yards and 5 touchdowns and Isaiah McKenzie is the top receiver with 32 catches and 6 touchdowns and Terry Godwin has 24 catches. The Georgia defense is allowing 25.9 points and 324.1 yards per game with 10 interceptions, 8 fumble recoveries, and 19 sacks. Roquan Smith and Natrez Patrick each has 55 tackles to leads the Dawgs and Aaron Davis has 38 tackles. Georgia has been somewhat of a disappointment this season even with a first year Coach and QB.
The Auburn Tigers are 7-2 this season and they have won their last 6 games in a row. The Auburn offense is averaging 34.8 points and 494.1 yards per game and they have turned the ball over 10 times. Tigers QB Sean White has completed 69.1 percent of his passes with 9 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Kamryn Pettway is Auburn’s top rusher with 1106 yards and 7 touchdowns and Tony Steven and Ryan Davis each have 24 receptions. The Auburn defense is allowing 16 points and 356.3 yards per game and they have turned the ball over 12 times. Tray Mathews leads the Tigers defense with 57 tackles, Johnathan Ford has 50 tackles, and Carl Lawson has 8.5 sacks. Auburn has been one of the bigger turnaround stories this season and they are gearing up for their annual showdown with Alabama.
Georgia is 3-8 against the spread in their last 11 home games, 7-16-1 against the spread against a team with winning road record, and 0-4 against the spread following a win. Auburn is 5-1 against the spread in their last 6 games, 4-0 against the spread in their last 4 road games, and 4-10 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the point spread. The favorite has covered the point spread in the last 6 meetings of these two teams.
While Georgia got the win last week it was less than convincing and they still have gaping holes on both sides of the football. Auburn is just the far better team here and they should have their way in this one.
