The Georgia Bulldogs and he Vanderbilt Commodores face off on Saturday in Athens at Sanford Stadium for a SEC college football matchup.
The Georgia Bulldogs are 3-1 for the season and they have played one of the tougher schedules in the nation thus far. Georgia led most of the way last week against Tennessee but they had to hold on late to seal the win. The Georgia offense is averaging 45.2 points behind QB Hutson Mason who has who has completed 69 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and two interceptions. Todd Gurley has been one of the top running backs in the nation gaining 610 yards with six touchdowns with Sony Michel and Nick Chubb both being effective spelling Gurley. Georgia has one of the softer schedules in SEC fro here forward it is up to them to take advantage of it.
The Vanderbilt Commodores are 1-4 on the season and this is their fourth SEC game of the season but their bowl chances are already slim. Vandy has struggled to move the football and score averaging just 17 points per game and last week the Commodores started Wade Freebeck at QB at Kentucky and he went 8 for 25 passing with 85 yards and three interceptions in the loss. Ralph Webb has rushed for 421 yards and a touchdown and Steven Scheu has 13 receptions. The Vanderbilt defense is allowing 34.8 points per game with just one interception seven fumble recoveries, and 10 sacks. Nigel Bowden has 36 tackles, Caleb Azubike has 4.0 sacks, and Torren McGaster has 26 tackles. The Vandeerbilt defense has been hung out to dry by their offense.
Georgia is 9-3 against the spread against a team with a losing record, 4-10-1 against the spread in their last 15 games, and 1-7-1 against the spread in their last nine SEC games. Vanderbilt is 4-0 against the spread in their last four road games, 5-1 against the spread in their last six SEC games, and 1-5 against the spread in their last six games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous game. The home team has covered the point spread in the last four meetings of these two.
This is just a ton of points for an SEC game as Georgia defense isn’t good enough to lay this number.
