CFB | Tulane Green Wave (2-6) at Houston Cougars (5-3)

The Houston Cougars play host to the Tulane Green Wave at TDECU Stadium in week eleven action.

The Tulane Green Wave look to control the scoreboard when they travel to Houston Saturday. Controlling the scoreboard is the only way the Green Wave have at getting a win but that didn't happen in a 38-14 loss to visiting Cincinnati in week ten. This isn't a big offensive squad so when the Bearcats jumped to a 24-0 lead after 30 minutes that was trouble. Cinci won the yardage battle 479-380 with plenty of balance. The Green Wave did a little of everything but not as well with Dontreal Hilliard running for 123 yards on eleven carries while Tanner Lee completed 24-35 for 205 yards with a ten yard touchdown to Charles Jones. It was actually a decent effort from the offense but they struggled to 3-13 on third down and their lone fumble turned in to a TD for the Bearcats.

The Houston Cougars are hoping to keep the good times rolling when they get a visit from Tulane on Saturday. The Cougars have been looking more and more like last season's team with each passing week as they picked up win number three in a row after dominating South Florida 27-3 on the road. UH led 7-0 after two quarters before taking control over the final 30 minutes. The Cougars held the Bulls to only 222 yards with virtually no rushing attack and a short passing attack. Houston didn't pile up the yards with 306 but they were able to run and were successful in a very short air attack. Greg Ward Jr. connected on 15-19 throws for 89 yards with an eight yard scoring toss to Kenneth Farrow with Farrow leading the ground game with 112 yards and a TD while Ryan Jackson added 62 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The under is 6-0-1 in Green Wave last 7 games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous game and is 4-0 in Green Wave last 4 games overall while the under is 4-0 in Green Wave last 4 games following a SU loss of more than 20 points. For Houston the under is 4-0 in Cougars last 4 games following a ATS win and is 4-0 in Cougars last 4 games following a S.U. win while going 5-0 in Cougars last 5 games on turf. Head to head the Green Wave are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Houston with the favorite going 11-1 ATS in their last 12 meetings while the Green Wave are 1-10 ATS in their last 11 meetings. Houston has done well in this match up and seem to be clicking so I'll back them...

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
