The Purdue Boilermakers and Illinois Fighting Illini meet Saturday in college football action at Memorial Stadium.

The Purdue Boilermakers have had an extra week to prepare for this game and look for a third straight victory to get back to a .500 record. The Purdue Boilermakers have split their last six road games. David Blough is completing 68.2 percent of his passes for 1,318 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception. Blough and Elijah Sindelar have combined for nine touchdown passes and four interceptions. Rondale Moore and Brycen Hopkins have combined for 765 receiving yards and six touchdowns while Isaac Zico has 15 receptions. The Purdue Boilermakers ground game is averaging 169.8 yards per contest, and D.J. Knox leads the way with 390 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, Purdue is allowing 26.4 points and 447.2 yards per game. Markus Bailey leads the Purdue Boilermakers with 40 tackles, Derrick Barnes has three tackles for loss and Kai Higgins has two interceptions.

The Illinois Fighting Illini have a chance to win four games before the month of November for just the third time in the last seven years. The Illinois Fighting Illini have lost six of their last eight home games. M.J. Rivers II is completing 63 percent of his passes for 422 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Rivers and AJ Bush Jr. have combined for four touchdown passes and one interception this season. Ricky Smalling and Sam Mays have combined for 289 receiving yards and three touchdowns while Trenard Davis has 13 receptions. The Illinois Fighting Illini ground game is averaging 260.8 yards per contest, and Reggie Corbin leads the way with 464 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, Illinois is allowing 28.6 points and 483.4 yards per game. Del'Shawn Phillips leads the Illinois Fighting Illini with 39 tackles, Bobby Roundtree has three sacks and Jartavius Martin has three interceptions.

The Boilermakers are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games on fieldturf, 15-5-2 ATS in their last 22 road games and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Fighting Illini are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games following a ATS win. The Boilermakers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings, the underdog is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings and the over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Illinois.

The Purdue Boilermakers are starting to earn some respect from the oddsmakers after beating Boston College and going on the road to smack Nebraska. However, two solid wins don't make me forget the years of losing and bad football from the Boilermakers over the years. The Illinois Fighting Illini are playing some of their best and most consistent football in years and have one of the top rushing offenses in the country. To just make the Fighting Illini double-digit underdogs at home seems like disrespect and something I'm not willing to do. I don't think Purdue has shown enough to be laying this sort of chalk on the road in a conference game.
