|Date & Time||Saturday October 24, 2015, 3:30 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Michigan State Spartans -17 -- Over/Under: 63
The Michigan State Spartans play host to the Indiana Hoosiers at Spartan Stadium.
The Indiana Hoosiers began the season but have dropped three in a row since following a 55-52 defeat at the hands of visiting Rutgers. IU led this one 45-27 at one point with the Scarlet Knights booting a 26 yard field goal as time expired to win it. Both teams combined for over 1,200 yards but Indiana was hurt with three turnovers. Nate Sudfield gave the Hoosiers an explosive passing game with 464 yards and four touchdowns and a pair of interceptions on 32-62 with Mitchell Paige, Ricky Jones and Simmie Cobbs Jr. combining for 352 yards on 21 receptions. The Indiana rushing attack was solid when they ran with Devine Redding and Mike Majette combining for 182 yards on 26 totes with Redding scoring twice..
We all know about the fumbled/blocked punt return in the final seconds that gave Michigan State a 27-23 win against rival Michigan and kept them unbeaten. The numbers say this probably shouldn’t have come down to such a fluke play with the Spartans holding a 386-230 yardage edge with a 20-10 advantage in first downs. It was all passing for the Spartans offense behind quarterback Connor Cook who threw for 328 yards and a touchdown despite going 18-39. Aaron Burbridge was the Spartans top receiver with nine receptions for 132 yards with Trevon Pendleton a 74 yard reception. That was still shy of what was needed because Michigan State struggled to run.
The Hoosiers are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games on grass and are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game while the over is 6-1-1 in Hoosiers last 8 games on grass. The Spartans are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games on grass and are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home game while the over is 8-1 in Spartans last 9 games after allowing less than 275 total yards in their previous game. The Hoosiers are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Michigan State and the over is 7-0 in the last 7 meetings while the favorite is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings. I think the spread might be a tad high butt I do like the over…
