CFB | Southern Illinois Salukis (0-1) at Indiana Hoosiers (4-8)

The Southern Illinois Salukis and Indiana Hoosiers meet Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.

The Southern Illinois Salukis look to build on their 6-6 record last season which included two road victories. Mark Iannotti returns at quarterback after completing 63 percent of his passes for 2,241 yards, 22 touchdowns and eight interceptions last season. Cameron Walter and Billy Reed combined for close to 300 receiving yards while Josh Sullivan had 12 receptions. Walter remains the lead running back for SIU, as he rushed for 338 yards and two touchdowns last season. Defensively, Chase Allen returns after leading Southern Illinois with 95 tackles, Tyler Wibbenmeyer had seven tackles for loss and Adam Brandt had four sacks.

The Indiana Hoosiers hope to finally get over that hump this season as they chase a bowl appearance for the first time since 2007. Nate Sudfeld returns at quarterback after completing 60.5 percent of his passes for 1,151 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions. J-Shun Harris II and Simmie Cobbs, Jr. combined for more than 200 receiving yards and two touchdowns while Dominique Booth had eight receptions as a freshman. Jordan Howard takes over at running back after rushing for more than 1,000 yards with the UAB Blazers. Defensively, T.J. Simmons returns after picking up 72 tackles last year for the Hoosiers, Nate Hoff had 8.5 tackles for loss and Chase Dutra had three interceptions.

This is supposed to be the year that Indiana finally ends its bowl drought. If the Hoosiers can't beat Southern Illinois in a blowout at home, there may be little hope of that happening in the improved Big Ten. The Salukis have some decent players and an experienced quarterback, but they're not as deep as the Hoosiers.

Give me the home team in a three-touchdown victory.
