The Line: Oklahoma Sooners -24.5 -- Over/Under: 63
The Iowa State Cyclones go on the road to try and slow the Oklahoma Sooners Saturday.
The Iowa State Cyclones snapped a three game skid and kept their Bowl hopes alive with a 24-0 win versus visiting Texas. Scoring hasn’t come easy for the Cyclones but fortunately it’s been even tougher for the Longhorns who mustered just 204 yards and eleven first downs while ISU rolled up 426 yards. Quarterback Joel Lanning gave the Cyclones 188 passing yards and a touchdown although he was only 19-37 with Allen Lazard snagging six balls for 66 yards. Iowa State was stronger on the ground behind Mike Warren’s 32 carry, 157 yard effort with a touchdown while Lanning ran for 64 yards on 13 totes.
Since losing to Texas the Oklahoma Sooners have been on fire on both sides of the ball with three straight wins capped off by a 62-7 rout of Kansas on the road. The boxscore told the story with OU amassing a 710-218 yardage edge with 35 first downs. Quarterback Baker Mayfield gave the Sooners a dominant passing attack with 383 yards and four touchdowns on 27-32 with Sterling Shepard leading all receivers with eleven receptions for 183 yards with a score. The Sooners ran the ball well when they wanted with Alex Ross and Samaje Perine combining for 193 yards on 25 carries with Perine scoring twice.
The over is 5-0-1 in Cyclones last 6 games following a S.U. win and is 3-0-1 in Cyclones last 4 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game while the Cyclones are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games in November. The over is 5-1 in Sooners last 6 games after allowing less than 275 total yards in their previous game and is 5-1 in Sooners last 6 games overall while the Sooners are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 conference games. The favorite is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings and the Cyclones are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Oklahoma while going 1-4 ATS in their last 5 meetings. I’m looking at the Sooners team total over the way they have been scoring…
