The Maryland Terrapins and Iowa Hawkeyes square off Saturday at Kinnick Stadium.
The Maryland Terrapins could use their first Big Ten victory to snap a four-game losing streak. The Maryland Terrapins ground game is averaging 186.7 yards per contest, and Brandon Ross leads the way with 489 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, Maryland is allowing 34.1 points and 444.1 yards per game. Jermaine Carter, Jr. leads the Terps with 68 tackles, Sean Davis has two interceptions and Yannick Ngakoue has 8.5 sacks.
The Iowa Hawkeyes look to remain unbeaten and in the driver's seat of the Big Ten West. C.J. Beathard is completing 61 percent of his passes for 1,415 yards, nine touchdowns and three interceptions. Beathard has three passing touchdowns in his last three games. Matt VandeBerg and Tevaun Smith have combined for 626 receiving yards while Henry Krieger Coble has 17 receptions. Defensively, Iowa is allowing 15.3 points and 294.3 yards per game. Cole Fisher leads the Hawkeyes with 61 tackles, Desmond King has six interceptions and Nate Meier has 5.5 sacks. Boone Myers and LeShun Daniels Jr. are questionable while Jordan Canzeri is out with injuries.
The Terrapins are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS win and 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games following a S.U. loss. The Hawkeyes are 6-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall.
Iowa is undefeated and has one of the best defenses in the country. However, only two of the Hawkeyes wins have come by 20 or more points. Maryland is losing games, but the Terps have hung around with Ohio State and Penn State in back-to-back weeks. Have to think the Terps can keep this game close as well.
