The Kansas State Wildcats welcome the Kansas Jayhawks to town in a Big-12 college football tilt.

The Kansas Jayhawks bid for consecutive victories went by the wayside in a 27-3 defeat at Iowa State as an 18 point home dog. Kansas lost the yardage battle 394-332 and never recovered from a 20-3 halftime deficit.

Jayhawks quarterback Peyton Bender connected on 19-41 for 185 yards and ran for a loss of seven yards.

Khalil Herbert was the top offensive performer for Kansas with 91 rushing yards on 21 carries with Pooka Williams Jr. adding 58 yards on 17 totes while logging six receptions for 42 yards. Steven Sims Jr. led the KU receiving corps with seven catches for 71 yards but the passing game needed more plays downfield.

The Kansas State Wildcats have had a long season and it’s gotten longer after a 14-13 loss at TCU with a botched extra point being the difference. Kansas State held a 301-275 yardage edge but gave the ball away three times and forced just one turnover.

Wildcats quarterback Alex Delton connected on 15-25 for 155 yards and a touchdown while running 23 times for just 36 yards and a score.

Alex Barnes gave KSU a threat on the ground with a game high 102 yards on 23 carries  while Zach Reuter paced the Kansas State receiving corps with 60 yards on four receptions.

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
