Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

The Murray State Racers and the Kentucky Wildcats square off in college football action from Kroger Field on Saturday afternoon.

The Murray State Racers will still be looking for their first win in this one after falling to 0-2 with a 26-13 loss to Central Arkansas in their last outing. Drew Anderson threw for 209 yards, a touchdown and an interception on 19 of 36 passing while Quarderman Sloan rushed for a team-high 36 yards on 5 carries. James Sappington led the Racers with 3 catches for 57 yards and a touchdown while Sylvaughn Turner added a pair of catches for 43 yards. Kenney Wooten also chipped in an interception on the defensive end for the Racers in the losing effort.

The Kentucky Wildcats will look to build some steam after snapping one of the longest droughts in the country against a single opponent, defeating Florida for the first time in 31 years with a 27-16 win last time out. Terry Wilson threw for 151 yards, 2 touchdowns and an interception on 11 of 16 passing and ran for a 3rd score with 105 rushing yards as well. Benny Snell led the ‘Cats with 175 rushing yards on 27 carries while Lynn Bowden led Kentucky in receiving with 4 catches for 79 yards and a touchdown and David Bouvier added a touchdown grab of his own. Darius West led the Wildcats with 5 tackles and an interception on defense, while Kentucky teamed up for a pair of sacks and a forced fumble which they also recovered in the winning effort.

Trends will be updated once they’ve been released.

I’d like to give Murray State a chance here, but the Racers haven’t looked great in their first two games, both losses, and now have to face a Kentucky team riding a massive high after their emotional win over Florida. Benny Snell is putting a stamp on this season, marking it as his year and if Snell keeps this up, he could be an under-the-radar nominee for the Heisman. With that said, I need to see a line before making my final pick, so please check back once a line has been released for your free pick.
