The Liberty Flames continue their foray in to FBS college football  with a week three bout against FCS foe the Norfolk State Spartans.

THIS GAME HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER AND RESCHEDULED FOR DECEMBER 1st.---The Norfolk State Spartans saw their offense stall in a 17-0 loss against visiting James Madison in week two. This game was called after one quarter thanks to storms in the area. James Madison showed why they are the number two team in the FCS with a 129-29 advantage n total yards despite playing just 15 minutes.

Spartans quarterback D’Andre Thomas completed just 1-5 for five yards and an interception. Aaron Savage led Norfolk State on the ground with eleven yards on five carries with Chuma Awanna recording the lone reception.

The Liberty Flames looked fantastic on opening day but found the Army option too tough in a 38-14 loss in week two. Liberty was outgained 510-417 with three turnovers while the Black Knights rolled up 449 rushing yards.

Flames quarterback Stephen Calvert connected on 19-37 for 307 yards and a pair of touchdowns and an interception. Damian King topped the Liberty receiving corps with 172 yards on eight receptions and a score while Kentory Matthews totaled 81 rushing yards on nine touches.

Under is 4-0 in Norfolk State last 4 games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous game and Norfolk State are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games after accumulating less than 275 total yards in their previous game and are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games after accumulating less than 170 yards passing in their previous game.  Liberty  are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous game and are 12-0 ATS in their last 12 games following a straight up loss of more than 20 points and are 13-1 ATS in their last 14 non-conference games.

I'd be careful with nasty weather predicted for ths one but all things being equal I believe the Flames get back on track...

Pick:
Liberty -25

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
