The Liberty Flames host the North Texas Mean Green in Saturday college football.
The North Texas Mean went to Arkansas in week three and throttled the Razorbacks 44-17 as a six point underdog. North Texas held a 376-336 yardage edge and picked off six passes in a surprisingly easy victory.
Mean Green quarterback Mason Fine connected on 24-45 for 281 yards and a touchdown with Jaelon Darden and Kelvin Smith catching five passes each for a combined 147 yards.
Lorn Easly was the UNT rushing attack with 68 yards and a trip to the end zone on 13 carries. North Texas also returned a punt for a score and had a pick six for 14 points altogether.
The Liberty Flames get back to football after Hurricane Florence postponed their game with Norfolk State in week three. Liberty is chomping at the bit to make amends for a 38-14 loss to Army in week two. Liberty was outgained 510-417 with three turnovers while the Black Knights rolled up 449 rushing yards.
Flames quarterback Stephen Calvert connected on 19-37 for 307 yards and a pair of touchdowns and an interception. Damian King topped the Liberty receiving corps with 172 yards on eight receptions and a score while Kentory Matthews totaled 81 rushing yards on nine touches.
