The Line: Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns -15.5 -- Over/Under: 66.5
The New Mexico State Aggies visit Cajun Field to oppose the Louisiana-Lafayette Raging Cajuns.
The New Mexico State Aggies have done nothing until the last two weeks where they have won consecutive contests after knocking off Texas State 31-21 on the road. The Aggies rolled up a 527-400 yardage edge and forced three turnovers with the ability to both run and throw. Quarterback Nick Jeanty gave the Aggies 297 passing yards and a pair of touchdowns on 24-45 with Larry Rose II catching two balls for a game high 85 yards and a score. Rose III was dominant in the New Mexico State rushing attack with 207 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 31 carries.
The Louisiana-Lafayette Raging Cajuns saw a two game winning streak come to an end in a 32-25 defeat at South Alabama in week eleven to make their postseason drive more difficult at 4-5. This was a close game despite the Jaguars owning a 495-313 yardage edge with a pick six helping the cause. UL Lafayette had nothing going on the ground so the offense turned to quarterback Brooks Haack who threw for 270 yards and a touchdown and interception on 21-34. Jamal Robinson was the Raging Cajuns top receiving target with ten receptions for 188 yards including a 45 yard scoring strike.
The over is 5-0 in Aggies last 5 games on turf and the Aggies are 0-7 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a losing home record while the over is 7-1 in Aggies last 8 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game. The Ragin' Cajuns are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 conference games and are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games overall while going 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing more than 450 total yards in their previous game. The underdog is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings. I’ll probably regret this but the Aggies are playing well…
