The Line: Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin` Cajuns -7 -- Over/Under: 53.5
The South Alabama Jaguars head to Cajun Field to tangle with the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns in week ten.
The South Alabama Jaguars are looking to take control of the Sun Belt when they visit Louisiana-Lafayette Saturday. USA has built some momentum with a four game winning streak after knocking off visiting Troy 27-13. The Jaguars defense controlled the Trojans with 309 yards allowed and never let Troy establish the run or pass with any consistency. The Jaguars totaled 402 yards behind strong running that approached 300 yards. Kendall Houston led USA with 178 yards on 18 carries with a 41 yard touchdown while Xavier Johnson added 107 yards on 15 touches including a 14 yard scoring run. The air game under Brandon Bridge connected on 9-21 for 106 yards with a 45 yard scoring strike to Shavarez Smith but the bottom line is the Jaguars defense dictated the outcome.
Louisiana-Lafayette looks to continue their hot run when South Alabama pays a visit to Cajun Field in week ten. The Ragin' Cajuns are looking to win number four in a row after a more then impressive 55-40 victory over Arkansas State. The Red Wolves totaled almost 600 yards but were worn down by the UL Lafayette rushing attack that totaled 419 yards and averaged 7 1/2 yards per touch. Terrance Broadway was adequate through the air with a 9-17 effort for 102 yards but his most important job was turning around and handing the ball off. Elijah McGuire destroyed the Red Wolves on the ground with 265 yards with four touchdowns including 43, 54 and 74 yard scoring gallops. Alonzo Harris contributed 107 yards and another four scores as the Ragin' Cajuns kept things on the ground because there was no reason to throw.
For South Alabama the under is 4-0 in Jaguars last 4 games in November with the Jaguars going 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games while the under is 7-0 in Jaguars last 7 games following a ATS loss. For UL Lafayette the under is 4-0 in Ragin' Cajuns last 4 games after accumulating less than 170 yards passing in their previous game with the over is 5-0 in Ragin' Cajuns last 5 games after accumulating more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game. The Ragin' Cajuns are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games in November. The Jaguars defense is one of the best in the conference and if they can control the scoreboard they should have enough offense to stay in this game so for now I'll take the points and make any updates by Friday afternoon...
