Instate and Sun Belt college football rivals the UL Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns and the UL Monroe Warhawks clash in week 13.

The UL Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns reached Bowl eligibility after upending South Alabama 48-38 on Saturday as a 20 point favorite. UL Lafayette was outgained 477-407 but took advantage of three South Alabama turnovers.

Ragin’ Cajuns quarterback Andre Nunez connected on 12-18bfor 153 yards and a pair of touchdowns and an interception while Levi Lewis hit on a 44 yard scoring throw.

Elijah Mitchell topped the ULL rushing attack with 12 carries for 104 yards and three trips to the end zone followed by Trey Ragas with 53 yards on ten totes. Ja’Marcus Bradley caught three balls and each went for touchdowns for ULL.

The UL Monroe Warhawks were one of the hottest teams in the Sun Belt with four straight victories but the team was cooled off in a 31-17 loss at Arkansas State. UL Monroe wasn’t much of a threat with 276 yards and three turnovers.

Warhawks quarterback Caleb Evans completed 17-28 for 218 yards and a touchdown along with three interceptions including a pick six while leading the ground game with 34 yards on 14 carries with a trip to the end zone.

Marcus Green and Josh Pederson topped the UL Monroe receiving corps with five receptions apiece for a combined 129 yards with Pederson finding the end zone.

This looks like a toss up to me so I’ll gladly take the points…

UL Lafayette +4

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
