The South Alabama Jaguars and the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks will meet up on the college football circuit Saturday.
South Alabama is 1-3 this season. The Jaguars took out Jackson State in Week 2 but otherwise have fallen to Nebraska, Memphis and UAB.
In the UAB loss, South Alabama QB Tylan Morton put up just 76 yards while Tra Minter led the rush on 43 yards. Minter also led the receiving corps with 34 yards on three catches.
Over on the Louisiana-Monroe side, they’re 1-2 this year. The Warhawks took out Grambling State in their opener but then fell to Florida State and Iowa State in their last two games.
In the loss to Iowa State, ULM quarterback Caleb Evans had 176 yards, two TDs and a pick, while also leading the rush on 93 yards. Jonathan Hodoh led the receivers there with 46 yards and a TD.
The Jaguars are 9-21 ATS in their last 30 road games and 10-26-1 ATS in their last 37 conference games. South Alabama is 1-4 ATS in their last five on grass and 0-4 ATS in their last four in September.
Meanwhile, the Warhawks are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 conference games an 10-25-1 ATS in their last 36 at home. ULM is 1-4 ATS in their last five in September and 1-4 ATS in their last five overall.
Outside of a nice win over Jackson State that seems like ages ago, there’s not much to like about the Jaguars. They’ve put up just nine points over their last two games.
As for ULM, they’ve shown their ability to put points on the board, as well as their inconsistency on defense. Still, given a manageable opponent at home I have to go Warhawks here.
