|Date & Time||Saturday November 1, 2014, 3:00 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Louisiana Tech Bulldogs -7 -- Over/Under: 71
The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers bring their offense to Joe Aillet Stadium to face the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.
The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers visit Louisiana Tech Saturday needing to string together the wins for a postseason berth. If you have watched Western Kentucky in 2014 you know their specialty is lighting up the scoreboard while hoping their porous defense gets enough stops to win. That plan worked well enough to earn a 66-51 victory over no defense Old Dominion. Both teams combined for over 1,200 yards with WKY getting a 96 yard pick six from Juwan Gardner and a 94 yard kick return from Kylen Towner. Brandon Doughty hit on 23-26 for 371 yards and five touchdowns as the Hilltoppers specialty is putting the ball in the air. However the rushing attack chipped in with Leon Allen grinding out 182 yards on 32 carries with a pair of short trips to the endzone.
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs look to continue their recent hot streak when Western Kentucky pays a visit in week ten. The Bulldogs have won three ollowing a 31-20 decision at Southern Mississippi where La Tech over came a 7-3 half time hole on the strength of a 28-13 run over the final 30 minutes. This marked the second straight week the Bulldogs overcame sluggish first half performances to win. This game down to a battle of air attacks with neither squad having any ability to run the ball. The Golden Eagles threw for 379 yards and two interceptions while Cody Sokol connected on 27-46 for 423 yards and a trio of touchdowns. Kenneth Dixon was the Bulldogs top pass catcher with six receptions for 124 yards including a pair of touchdowns with one covering 84 yards.
The over is 4-0 in Hilltoppers last 4 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game with the Hilltoppers going 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS win while the over is 5-0 in Hilltoppers last 5 conference games. For Louisiana Tech the Bulldogs are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games in November while the Bulldogs are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game with the under is 5-1 in Bulldogs last 6 vs. a team with a losing record. Western Kentucky throws and scores and that's it and the Bulldogs can be passed on so I'll take the touchdown and lean over...
