The Texas Southern Tigers and the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns will meet on the college football circuit Saturday.

Texas Southern is sitting on an 0-2 mark so far. The Tigers fell to Prairie View 44-23 and then Incarnate Word 63-44.

The Tigers’ DeAndre Johnson threw for 331 yards, three touchdowns and a pick in the loss to the Cardinals, and LaDarius Owens had 94 yards and two scores. Tren’Davian Dickson went off for 221 yards and two TDs in the receiving game as well.

Over on the Louisiana side, they’re 1-1 this season. the Cajuns fell to MS State in the opener but took out Liberty 35-14 in game two.

In the win over the Flames, Levi Lewis threw for 179 yards, two TDs and a pick. Trey Ragas had 129 yards and a TD on the ground, while Ja’Marcus Bradley had 110 yards and two scores off six receptions.

The Tigers are 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and 4-1 in their last five road games.

Meanwhile, the over is 6-0 in Louisiana’s last six games after posting less than 170 pass yards in their previous game and 5-1 in their last six home games versus a team with a losing road record. The Cajuns are 1-5-1 ATS in the last seven games after a straight-up win by more than 20 points as well.

Things aren’t starting well for Texas Southern, losing two games to teams they should at least be remotely competitive with. Trouble is, the defense has been a sieve.

That’s good news for the Cajuns, who should have plenty of offense to keep the pace up here. I’m going Louisiana, even though the line is super thick.

Pick:
Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns -47
