The Louisville Cardinals will try to get their first win as they will host the Houston Cougars.
The Louisville Cardinals will try to bounce back after losing 31-24 to the Auburn Tigers. Louisville looked like they were about to get rolled over by the Tigers but came back scoring 24 points in the second half. Lamar Jackson and Reggie Bonnafon split time at quarterback. Jackson struggled through the air going 9/20 for a 100 yards and a interception, but added 106 yards and a touchdown on the ground.. Bonnafon played better going 8/13 for 67 yards. Running back Brandon Radcliff had 17 cariies for 76 yards and 2 touchdowns. Receiver Devonte Peete led the team with 3 receptions for 60 yards. Josh Harvey-Clemons was big on defense coming up with 2 big interceptions. Romaine Washington also recorded a interception. Lousiville will try to figure things out this week against Houston.
Houston opened up at home against Tennessee Tech and won big 52-24. Quarterback Greg Ward Jr had a big game passing for 275 yards and a touchdown while also adding rushing yards and 2 rushing touhdowns. Running back Kenneth Farrow didn’t get much action only recording 11 carries for 49 yards. Wide Receiver Demarcus Ayers had a big game catching 10 passes for 121 yards. Kyle Postma also had 4 catches for 82 yards and a touchdown. Adrian McDonald led the defense with an interception. Linebacker Elandon Roberts led the team with 8 tackles. Houston will have their hands full this week on the road at Louisville.
