CFB | Penn State Nittany Lions (5-2) at Maryland Terrapins (2-4)

The Penn State Nittany Lions and Maryland Terrapins play Saturday at M&T Bank Stadium.

The Penn State Nittany Lions look for their third Big Ten win that would make them bowl eligible. Christian Hackenberg is completing 53.1 percent of his passes for 1,206 yards, eight touchdowns and two interceptions. Hackenberg has not thrown a pick in four straight games. Chris Godwin and DaeSean Hamilton have combined for 713 receiving yards and four touchdowns while Saeed Blacknall has four receptions. The Penn State Nittany Lions ground game is averaging 162.7 yards per contest, and Saquon Barkley leads the way with 567 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, Penn State is allowing 17.7 points and 297.6 yards per game. Jason Cabinda leads the Nittany Lions with 51 tackles, John Reid has two interceptions and Carl Nassib has 11.5 sacks.

The Maryland Terrapins need a victory in order to snap a three-game losing streak. Perry Hills is completing 47.4 percent of his passes for 439 yards, five touchdowns and four interceptions. Hills and Caleb Rowe have produced nine touchdown passes. Levern Jacobs and D.J. Moore have combined for 415 receiving yards and four touchdowns while Taivon Jacobs has seven receptions. The Maryland Terrapins ground game is averaging 177.6 yards per contest, and Brandon Ross leads the way with 431 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Maryland is allowing 34.7 points and 457.7 yards per game. Jermaine Carter, Jr. leads the Terrapins with 63 tackles, Sean Davis has two interceptions and Yannick Ngakoue has 6.5 sacks.

The Nittany Lions are 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 conference games and 1-4-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record. The Terrapins are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games following a S.U. loss and 1-5 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.

Penn State should just be able to overwhelm Maryland with its physicality on both sides of the ball. The Terps are just not a good football team right now and will certainly have a hard time moving the ball against the Nittany Lions defense. I like PSU to win this by double digits.

Penn State Nittany Lions -8
