Non conference college football action pits the South Florida Bulls at the Massachusetts Minutemen.
The South Florida Bulls have doing just enough to stay unbeaten after a 20-13 win versus East Carolina gave the team a perfect 4-0 record. South Florida did not look good as they were outgained 412-296 and had the ball for less then 22 minutes.
Bulls quarterback Blake Barnett completed 12-20 for 181 yards and a touchdown while running for another score.
Jordan Cronkite paced South Florida on the ground with 129 yards on 15 touches including an 80 scoring burst in the 4th quarter while Darnell Salmon caught two passes for 79 yards with one covering 66 yards for six.
The Massachusetts Minutemen could not contain the Ohio offense in a 58-42 loss in week five. Massachusetts was outgained 664-451 and recorded a pick six but only had the ball for 22 minutes with no rushing attack to milk the clock.
Andrew Ford paced a prolific Minutemen passing game as he connected on 27-38 for 355 yards and four touchdowns and an interception.
Andy Isabella was the top UMass receiving option with 12 receptions for 198 yards and three TD’s while Sadiq Palmer caught eight balls for 96 yards and another TD. Massachusetts saw Marquis Young run for 45 yards but he needed 13 carries.
South Florida are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games on fieldturf and over is 4-1 in South Florida last 5 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game and South Florida are 7-2 ATS vs. a team with a losing record. UMass are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games in October and over is 6-0 in UMass last 6 home games and over is 8-1 in UMass last 9 games after allowing more than 40 points in their previous game.
South Florida is the obvious choice but I think the offense has to show up in case a decent UMass passing game does some scoring…
