The Memphis Tigers clash with the Tulsa Golden Hurricane at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.
The Tulsa Golden Hurricane head to Memphis riding a six game slide after blowing a big lead in a home loss to South Florida heading in to their bye week. The Golden Hurricane led the Bulls 27-7 heading in to the locker room before the Bulls rattled off a 31-3 run over the final 30 minutes. Tulsa led in yardage 488-412 with a 46 yard pick six from Austin McDaniel to open the scoring. Dane Evans was the heart of the Tulsa attack with 314 passing yards with a nine yard touchdown to Keevan Lucas who caught eleven balls for 160 yards. The Golden Hurrican ran the ball well at times behind a 100 yard effort from Zack Langer with Bishop Louie adding 51 yards on three touches including an 18 yards scoring jaunt. Everything went right for Tulsa in the first half and everything went wrong in the second.
The Memphis Tigers tuned up for a visit from Tulsa with a one sided 48-10 victory over Southern Methodist in a game that was never close with Memphis leading 31-7 at the half. The Tigers had their way on both sides of the ball as they piled up 582 yards with 29 first downs while the Mustangs totaled 251 yards and threw a pair of interceptions. Brandon Hayes paced Memphis on the ground with 100 yards and a 36 yard TD with Jarvis Cooper adding 93 yards and a pair of TD's. The offense was so effective the Tigers were forced to punt once.
The Golden Hurricane are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games on fieldturf with the over going 7-1 in Golden Hurricane last 8 games overall. For Memphis the over is 4-0 in Tigers last 4 vs. a team with a losing record. The Tigers are 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game with the Tigers going 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall. These big spreads are hazardous to your bankroll especially during the week but for now I'll back the Tigers and make any changes the afternoon of the game...
