MAC college football features a week seven bout between the Kent State Golden Flashes and the Miami (OH) Redhawks.

The Kent State Golden Flashes squandered a 20-7 third quarter lead on the way to a 27-26 defeat to Ohio as a 12 point home dog. In a sloppy contest, Kent State won the yardage battle 472-414 but three turnovers and eleven turnovers did them in.

Golden Flashes quarterback Woody Barrett connected on 27-35 for 271 yards and a pair of touchdowns along with two interceptions while rushing for 61 yards on 12 carries.

Justin Rankin gave the Kent State ground game some punch with 123 yards on 16 touches while adding 29 yards on two catches followed by Isaiah McKoy with 118 yards on eight catches including a 75 yarder for a score.

The Miami (OH) Redhawks will be gunning for back to back victories after upending Akron 41-17 as a five point road underdog. Miami (OH) outgained the Zips 422-259 and won the turnover battle 5-2 with Akron returning a fumble for a TD.

Redhawks quarterback Gus Ragland connected on 24-33 for 214 yards and a touchdown and interception while running six times for 22 yards.

Kenny Young topped the Miami (OH) ground game with 78 yards on three totes with two TD’s while Alonzo Smith totaled 50 yards on 13 totes and another TD. Dominique Robinson paced the Redhawks receiving corps with five catches for 77 yards.

I’m never a fan of laying double digits with Miami (OH) but this number is doable if Ragland and crew come to play…

Pick:
Miami (OH) -12.5 // over 54 might be the best bet

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
